Amidst the stress, the workload, and the academic pressure - London is my favorite city to be in. Ever since I was a kid, I always dreamt of coming to London; if not for living maybe for a vacation. So sometimes it feels surreal to realize I am in fact really in London.
In all honesty, London is an expensive place to live. Underground trains and buses are comparatively cheaper on weekends but cost a lot more in peak hours. But the good news is, there are many free places to go and enjoy. This blog is about everything you could do in London for an affordable price.

One of the best things about London is that, unlike the whole of Europe, the art galleries and museums are free to visit. You have to book the entry beforehand though from their official website.

Free Parks
Although London may appear to be a concrete jungle, being surrounded by high buildings and throngs of people does not give the impression that a natural hermit is nearby. Surprisingly, London has a plethora of parks, gardens, and peaceful spots to unwind.
Take a walk through one of London's numerous parks if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and get some fresh air (as fresh as the air can be in London). One of the finest times to visit is in the fall when the trees turn all different shades of yellow, orange, and red, and piles of leaves blanket the ground. The vibrant and busy Hyde Park, which hosts events all year; Royal Kensington Gardens; the gorgeous Regent's Park; St. James (home of Her Majesty's swans); or Henry VIII's hunting grounds - Richmond Park!
Discover London’s Best-Known Landmarks on Foot
Despite the fact that London is rather large, the city center is quite walkable. The greatest way to explore a place is on your own two feet. We recommend spending a day strolling about the center of London to get a sense of the city's dynamic and bustling environment.
The throngs of visitors can be a little overpowering in Westminster, but the breathtaking majesty of Britain's parliament buildings is definitely worth the mild claustrophobia.
Then, gaze at the West End's brilliant lights and historic theatres. Wander through Chinatown, with its red lantern strings leading the way. Continue up to Leicester Square, then weave your way through the crowds marching along Oxford Street.
At noon, have a great lunch of fish and chips. Then go on to view the Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace, as well as St James' Palace, which King Henry VIII constructed for his most notorious wife, Anne Boleyn.
